Style: No longer training--
I am going to ignore this whole thread but the OP (hey battlefields, still chubby :p).
I'm starting MA again this Wednesday after nearly three years out and at a brand new club close to my place and I want to pee myself because I know when I walk in, I'm going to have to prove myself and that I'm committed to being there and not some flaky person that regulars are going to have to waste their time with.
What I would like to hear from the Bullies is what goes through your mind when a smaller noob walks into your club and worse, gets paired up with you all the damn time (or it feels that way) and is eating into your time to train for a comp/grading/anything but mollycoddling the new fool?

Jing, been a while :) It would be so nice to join a club you were in, thanks for the reassuring words.

If they're small my ego isn't involved so I really don't push them in rolling. In terms of drilling i only get annoyed if they don't know their lefts and right when its my turn to drill and I only get 20% of the drills done. If they waste their time in the drill getting me to help i really don't mind.
Bigger guys with some skill i like to pressure in sparring and see what they've got. Not flat out 100%, but enough to get a feel for how my gameplan works on people who don't know my entire game. My most enjoyable rolls are with new higher belts who join up. I got absolutely smashed by a traveling black belt no gi a few weeks ago.
