I can't wait until I go back to Judo to see the dojo flooded with mma guys who are "trying to round out their fight game." It's going to be hilariously awkward.

At first glance, I was sure that Tate's fucking arm was broken or at least dislocated. But something crazy must have happened and she got a shitton of luck on her side because she was able to get up and not be taken straight to the hospital. Was impressive. She answered a couple of questions as well, showed she can take a punch, get out of a bad spot.

Tate did not fight particularly smart. You'd think sprawl-n-brawl or leg shots would be the game-plan, but she seemed determined to walk into a clinch. Twice.

Also, dunno about you, but I was seriously concerned with Ronda's back escape technique. If Tate had aggressively gone for Ronda's neck I think we would be having a totally different thread.

I'm very interested in the answer to this, although considering who she trains with, I'm willing to bet she has excellent back defense.

Judo Gene Lebell was one of her cornermen last night if I'm not mistaken.

If Ronda continues to round out her striking game, she could very well be legacy material in my opinion. In the meantime, I'm very much looking forward to her fighting Sarah Kaufman.

I thought she was going to get back-crucifixed a few times, as well, but she did mostly have the hand trapped with the glove as a stop, which is pretty hard to extract yourself from. The way she ultimately got out is a bit reliant on hulk-smash, but I suppose she knows she's the stronger fighter so she can get away with it. What was with giving her back from guard so easily, that was the really surprising mistake for me.

Should be interesting, Ronda will have to be a lot tidier with her clinch entries unless she turns out to have a proper beastly chin.
