I thought I saw it dislocate in the first one, would have to watch it again.

I think Ronda said in a post-fight interview she didn't feel she had the first one and it was too loose so she let it go.

It definitely hyper-extended, I didn't see it actually pop out.

There was plenty of chance to tap on the 2nd one too - she could have been much quicker to really crank it.

    This.

And this. The first one seemed to extend more abruptly, the one she finished with was incredibly slow and methodical. Also Miesha Tate has had a history of being obstinate about injuries in competition. Didn't she break her leg in high school wrestling and refuse to quit at a tournament or something? I remember hearing Goldie talking about it during the fight. Tough girl, but it's not a smart idea to fail to tap to the arm collector. Else she might collect your arm.

Um yeah, stop your nit picking.

I don't think it's nitpicking. I should have quoted, but this is what I was responding to:

If the arm had actually been broken, then you might argue the scare factor that he was talking about. Dislocations are way more common. Factor in that it was entirely Tate's fault for not tapping and I don't see it as a the sort of deterrent to challengers that he was implying.

IMO, it wasn't until she tucked tate's wrist into her armpit that she showed a real desire to break the arm, with no concern for the tap, and by then she had already given plenty of chances for tate to tap.

i remember seeing satoko shinashi do the same thing to a dutch kickboxer who wouldn't tap to an armbar, but once that extra pressure was added, the tap came quickly.

I know Bas advocates extending the elbow "south" like that to prevent uke from circling to escape, like Tate was trying.
