Gentlemen:

Took me a while to dig it up but here is the reason why Mr. "Black Belt's" black belt is in question.

If you recall, I mentioned that I rolled with Mr. "Black Belt" in early 2007 and at the time he was a blue belt. However, if you look at the cached web page from archive.org from the WBJJA site, it shows that his status was a 1st degree black belt under the World Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Association on 01/01/2007. The web page was archived March 15, 2010.

This is the reason why he has been the butt of our jokes for many years.

I'll post the link. I just need a few more posts since I'm a noob.

Well Joe got back to me and he said "Yes he is under me." This is response to my question "Is this guy Erick Bonifacio a black belt under you?.....just wondering....thanks".

So we heard it from Joe himself so I guess Erick is a black belt but just maybe not a good one.

Unless you can provide PROOF of his payment for a Black Belt, the title will be changed and the thread is over.

Go to the YMAS section if you want to discuss how much he or his students suck. LOL@Fail is not a part of MABS.

Lesson Learned: Game the system, have your black belt recognized by another black belt and then you're legit. As I said, I rolled with this guy in '07 when he was a blue belt. I can attest to that.. That same year, he's a one-stripe black belt according to WBJJA. Now, that's bullshido!... :)
