No joke, someone on my facebook list went Vegan in the last 6 months. What has followed has got to be so fucking close to the OP it's almost scary!
Now I have this crazy, outspoken, angry and illogical frustrated person constantly linking to 15 year old PETA articles to try and prove a point that eating meat is wrong and we should all give it up.
The real fucking sad part is that this person thinks everyone is turning on them because of the Vegan thing ... and not because of the fucking bullshit spouting every day.
I'm not about to tell anyone to eat meat, I have perfectly logical and nice Vegetarian friends, but this person ... errrghhhhh

Some girl, who's an ardent watermelon, posted a link outraged about killing of Orangutans to make way for palm oil. I dropped in a link to how palm oil farming was because of watermelon's like her and she didn't know what to do. Was hilarious.

So I have unraveled the mystery of what vegans can eat.
I could eat all that stuff at once and still walk away unsatisfied. My personal favorite is the seitan kabobs with smoky yogurt dipping sauce. My grill would beat my ass if I sullied his reputation with some bullshit like that.

If you don't have meat to deal with you really have to work hard to learn how to use flavours and cook, so that what meagre vegetables you have actually taste of something.
Your average normal person doesn't need to develop knowledge of how to use flavours etc... because we have meat to take up the slack.

About two months ago, I went with my girlfriend to a vegan restaurant where she met up with her hippie friend to do some henna. The food was awful because it was masquerading as meat-foods, which to me was a sort of symbolic victory for meat (when a vegan restaurant sells stuff like orange "chicken" etc, to me that's an admission that meat is better but they're trying anyway). I was hungry like 10 minutes after I left.
