Are you trying to prepare for the Apocalypse or something? You are buying up self defence shotguns when you already own shotguns. You are buying body armor just for doing road work. Just seems a little sketchy to me. Unless you live in Iraq.

I think body armor is entirely appropriate for a robot armageddon scenario. Just sayin'.

No, it wasn't under $300. If I recall correctly it had cost me maybe $350, new. It's just the vest, like what you'd wear over your tee shirt.

Extra point blank IBA with kevlar inserts. Found some lvl4 plates in my COP in Iraq. Somehow they made it back in our connex.
