    Someone lent me an album by these guys once to 'cure me' of my hatred for Jazz...

    You're really not into jazz :) Not bad though. Cool music to relax with on a sunday evening whilst reading IMHO, just not that ideal when training.

    As a teenager, for example, I thought the Hungarian heavy metal band Pokolgep ("Machine from/of hell", an older name for a bomb actually) was the best group EVER... :-D

    First of all you must realize nobody is forcing you to love jazz...

    Even more important is that there is only music that is good (to you) and that is not (to you), no genres.

    I've always used faster music to do any sort of exercise because of the study (and others like it) linked above. Though I do remember reading somewhere that classical music is the best thing to listen to while studying because it "opens your mind" or something like that. Maybe classical while learning techniques/deliveries, and techno or something similar while actually exercising?

    Irish punk is awesome to listen to when boxing or doing MT. Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, ect.
