    I know he beat Jeff Monson at ADCC 2009 and placed 4th in the absolute overall on top of two pan am golds as a brown belt in gi and black belt no gi. I think he also took silver at worlds as a brown belt.

    He's a big name over here as he trained a long time under John Kavanagh, but he's slowly building his reputation overseas, I think he trains in new york now. his promotion to blackbelt so quickly is attributed to him never leaving the mats.

    That would explain a lot. I just had somebody come in and tell me he was a blue belt under him. Then he told me that he got his blackbelt in 3 years and the red flag went up. Then after some minor investigation I think "Oh ****, this guy looks for real".
