I condone this as well. What I do not condone is the Public Domain laws :)

New technology may have increased the velocity of information, but shunning and shaming are ages old techniques for society to police its own. It isn't perfect by any stretch, but there is some symmetry to it.
Yeh its justice if it is really them, but what guarantees do you have that it is really the addresses of the perpetrators in the video?

    Some guy on 4chan?

Because teh interwebs told you so?

I'm sorry that's not enough for me.

Until it is proved without a doubt, by reputable sources that the names and addresses do belong to the culpable individuals harassing those contact details is totally unethical. And even if they do belong to the culprits, you have no way or knowing if the culprit has a registered address at his 95 year old grandmas house, but lives in a crack den.

Do you really want to run the risk of harassing a 95 year old innocent woman into a heart attack to satiate your internet bloodlust? Because I don't.

    Especially with kids.

If this video hadn't been leaked, supposedly because they wanted to brag, what would have happened to them? Nothing. And without the incoming public harassment, they could have hidden this bestiality without making it a big deal.

Sorry, the kid that kicks somebody in the face twenty times because it thinks it's cool to explore violence, such a kid deserves worse than prison.

Oh, and let alone the parents.
As I have hinted at before, I'm not sure I can agree 100%. Those kids? Sure. Give them hell. Parents probably, too. However, when I think of grandparents, (younger) brothers or sisters... I'm not so sure.

EDIT: J_uk needs to stop doing this thing where he copies my posts but puts them more eloquently and posts them before I can.

I am honestly very divided on this: Sure, there might be a lot of collateral damage on the way, but if that damage serves to make an example, there's some value to it, too.

The thing with teenage criminals is that they usually have some sort of peer group where they can blend their street life out. If you confront their "positive world" with their "negative world" like this, they are forced to realize the dimensions of their acts.

Eh, can't be much worse than mine. We'll have to save this for another derail, though, I guess.

I am. However, I'm not only bad at writing in comprehensible English on this forum but also at humor. Additionally, I was trying to be nice.
