Anybody else bothered by Aldo's cage grab to block Mendes' takedown. I know it's f'in hard to block such a basic reflex, but he was definitely going down and that takedown could have forestalled the inevitable for at least one more fun-filled round (4:59 sec t.k.o.--that's gonna haunt Mendes awhile)

IMHO i don't think Aldo grabbed the cage on purpose, it was reflex kicking in.

He received a warning for the first time and when the ref watched very closely he even showed his open hand to prove he was not griping the cage when the ref asked him. The first time seemed like a reflex, yeah.

I'm so pissed at Joe Rogan for the way he did the post fight interview with Yamasaki. He may have fucked up, but it was just so fucking childish "that didn't land, that didnt land that didnt bla bla bla". He should have given the crowd the usual "fighter safety is our #1 priority" and chill everybody the **** out, instead he opted for the riot inducing bullshit he did.

I was a little shocked. Sure, he changed sides quickly, but I guess even a dog can realize it has more in common with the wolf than with the shephard.

I give him the names of some BJJ schools in the area, and we go our separate ways.

Wow, you'd think that after all that training, you'd understand what "keeping your hands up" means... Damn.

Well at least your grappling is good, you know. That's nice I guess.

My question is why nobody's making a big deal over the blatantly illegal shots Belfort hit Johnson with right before the choke. The reffing in that fight was shady start to finish, beyond the regular idiocy you expect out of Dan Miragliotta.

Though come to think of it, Belfort's fight with Akiyama ended with some suspiciously targeted shots too.
