Difficult to decide the knockout of the night bonus, I think.
So, in summation, what looked like a fairly boring card on paper turned out to be an exciting evening marred by some referee... fuckupery would be the best way to describe how I feel about them.Last edited by CNagy; 1/15/2012 12:31am at .

mario made the decision because he truly believed there were strikes to the back of the head. he was wrong, but i saw the angle he was running from to stop the fight, and i understand how he could think that way. once the decision is made, there's nothing he can do about it.
i was hoping vitor would win, but the standups were horrible. way too fast. there was one point where anthony had him against the cage, couldn't have been longer than about 10 or 15 seconds and it was restarted.
the spinning hook kick knockout was perfectly executed. the knee was bent until 10 o'clock when he whipped it out and made contact with the bottom of his foot/heel. exactly how we trained it when i did TKD years ago. -

My biggest problem with Mario's decision is that he waved off the fight like a ref would stop any TKO, rather than telling Silva to go to a neutral corner while he checked to see if Prater could continue. Then when he realized that Prater could not continue (injured shoulder/collar bone, apparently), he called the fight a DQ.
To me, it looked like he made one decision and then changed his mind when he checked on the condition of Prater. -
