Even a seemingly dull blade, like an iaito, can cause serious harm to the user without proper care.
You should also check out the instructor knows what they're doing before starting weapon training with them.

Can we turn this into a story time thread with Omega?

I'll start with a little one:
Three of us standing around doing single stick armarras / solo striking patterns before escrima. I turned my head to say something to one of the guys without adjusting my swing and gave myself a black eye.
I thought I already posted them.

****, check with devil. He's into finance or something (See what I did there?).

But seriously, from an uninformed perspective, you're doing a shitload of kata in iaido. Two man, one man, it's just kata. Without Randori or sparring, ****'s boring. I'm sure rock ape will call me a desert spider or something, but this is an outsider perspective.

Take up kendo. You are literally learning to hit a man with a stick. It could be applied to swords, sure, but you are hitting a man with a stick every day. Imagine what it'd be like at your birthday with pinatas.

    Candy.
    Every.
    Fucking.
    Where.

I was actually thinking about his post the other day. With the popularity of Facebook I was thinking about asking some of the people that were there to make some comments.

Yeah, you can use staff techniques to beat people with a pool skimmer at the pool.

    Was that the question?
