UFC’s Brock Lesnar facing charges under Alberta wildlife Act

Former wrestling and Ultimate Fighting champion Brock Lesnar is facing charges under Alberta's Wildlife Act.

Fish and Wildlife officers confirmed the international celebrity has been charged with three counts in contravention to the Alberta Fish and Wildlife Act.

The charges include improper affixation of tags, spoilage of skin and edible flesh and possession of a controlled animal.

Lesnar, who is 34, and his co-accused, Chad Stryker, were to appear in court in Medicine Hat, Alberta. today, but neither did.

Their case was put over until January 19th.

Ex UFC HW Champ Brock Lesnar has been charged in Medicine Hat, Alberta for violating the Alberta Wildlife Act during a hunting/fishing trip in 2010. Alberta Sustainable Resource Development spokesman Darcy Whiteside told the Calgary Herald"

"A whitetail deer was found in the possession of the taxidermist and was not tagged, and as a result of that, an investigation ensued,"

He's been charged with: (according to a Medicine Hat Provincial Court official).

illegal possession of a deer

As an American, Lesnar required a guide, to hunt in Alberta. The guide, Chad Stryker, has also been charged.

The maximum penalty for each charge is a $50,000 fine, and one year in prison.

Lesnar didn't attend the hearing at Medicine Hat provincial court Thursday. Stryker and Lesnar are due to appear Jan 19th.

In a video of the hunt (shot by North American Hunter Television), Lesnar says this at the end:

"Baddest man on the planet. With the horns and about 150 pounds of meat on my back for about 500 feet, living the dream -- this is what I live for,"
