Brock has managed to take down everyone he has faced in the octagon. Even if he hasn't won every fight, he has taken everyone to the ground at some point. He moves extremely fast for a huge man.
If he gets the shoot in early, takes Overeem down and gets a full mount, or even dominant side mount, it will be over. Its virtually impossible to survive a sustained, heavy GNP by Lesnar. He's just too fucking strong. This is despite the fact that he isn't even a very good striker , technically speaking.
I just watched an hour-long preview of the match tonight where Brock declared " Brock Lesnar is the UFC."
When he talks like that it just makes me want to see him lose sooooo bad.
If the fight stays standing and Overeem nails Lesnar a couple of good one's early, Brock, like all bullies, will lose a bit of his nerve. I can see Overeem taking him out via TKO set up by a couple of solid knees to the head in this scenario.
If I was coaching Overeem, my advice would be to to try and nail Brock with a couple of heavy inside leg kicks early , hopefully make him a bit hesitant and try to keep things standing. Be aggressive, but cautious. Get your shots in and then pull back a bit, wait until he seems stunned, then pour it on. Once you get the upper hand, do all you can to end it because you may not get another chance. Use those damn knees !
Of course, this is all easier said than done. lol
How much weight difference is there between them? A mere 10lbs..good.
I'm always cheering against Lesnar..and I think the well-traveled Overeem has a good chance tonight.
But am I confident enough to bet money on it ?
However, I will pick Overeem to win this one.

That's some fancy Korean kicking there, Kim. Great to see him win in a dominant fashion again.

Wow... Fitch. Wow. Can't say I'm not happy about it, though.

Do knockdowns through kicks give extra points in MMA,
like a knockdown in boxing?
