CNN story on the Dog Brothers

Pretty decent write up and video covering the Dog Brothers shot at the last public Gathering. That's me being interviewed in the yellow 'Got Poi?' shirt. It was a great day.

    Aloha, Poi

PS - Don't be fooled by the short guy in the other yellow shirt getting hit, that ain't me. Accept only the original -- Poi Dog!!

Cool, I would've liked to see them use some of the chest camera footage, and I figured they'd use part of that match where those two dudes were wailing on each other with chains.

Great Vid. Wish there was a Dog Brothers here.

    Don't read the comments section.

Any well trained martial artist would close the range instantly, take the person off their feet and gouge their eyes. They'd maybe take one good shot if they were too slow, then the altercation would be over. This sparring around for minutes beating each other to a pulp is pointless. Pain tolerance? A trained expert prefers pain intolerance and not abusing their body for pointless macho reasons

I like the way it's set up, but there isn't any type of 'hit' system in place. If these were actual blades, wouldn't a lot of the contenders be cut open while trying to close in for grappling?

Cool video!! I saw it on the DBMA news letter. The quote at the end is the best. "Some people won't understand. But that's ok, we don't need everyone to understand." Something like that. I need a tattoo of that!

Kinda why their unarmed defense vs. knife course is called Die Less Often, huh?

Have you done much knife sparring? I have a few times, just enough to know that if someone pulls a knife, haul ass!!!
