Thumbs up. This is the best possible PPV in boxing. Yes, I'm also counting Mayweather-Pacquiao here -- which numerous members of this forum seem obsessed with.
Check out the undercard:- Pawel Wolak vs. Delvin Rodriguez II
- Brandon Rios vs. John Murray
- Mike Jones vs. Sebastien Lujan
- Glen Tapia vs. Mike Ruiz
Any of these fights could be a FOTY candidate. Hell, Wolak-Rodriguez I already IS my leading candidate.
If you're actually going to pay for boxing this year, this is the fight card to see. -

The good guy won..

Margarito is a thug and a cheater and I knew he would lose." If one wants to have a friend one must also want to wage war for him: and to wage war one must be capable of being an enemy." - Fr. Nietzsche 'On The Friend' Thus Spake Zarathustra -

Anyone else started grininng when Margarito's eye started swelling? **** that guy.
From now on, everytime he steps into the ring, right before the match starts, the opponent should have the right to smash a brick over that eye. It would only be fair.
Cotto looked sharp as razors. Although, that's partially cause of how washed up Margarito is.

Having woken at the un-Godly hour of 4:20AM to watch this on Box Nation (UK new PPV), the fight started at 5AM...
Cotto was nervous but focussed. It also meant he was spending Energy at a furious rate even before it started. He showed Great Strategy in entering, punching and escaping before Margarito could find the range. The latter settled for smiling - a ruse designed to deny anyone pain etc. Well, someone was certainly hitting and inflicting damage on Margarito so his smiling act fooled only himself.
As Cotto found himself, he reduced the bouncing around and moved to surgical strikes and egress. This was really good stuff and was impressive. Margarito has a tough chin but so what? He was unable to prevent Cotto from following his (Miguel) strategy.
Margarito was hoping to win the fight in the later rounds but he was thwarted by Cotto's targeting the right eye and closing it. He then moved to his own left so moving into Margarito's blind spot.
Cotto was disciplined, focussed and brave and rightfully won.
Margarito can now **** off and take his loaded gloves with him. My previous Respect for his grit and determination was dissipated completely when he was found to Cheat. OUT!
