    What's the deal?

I mean, the original origin of TKD was that it started when Choi learned Shotokan karate from the Japanese in the 1930s, and then the name of TKD got coined by him in the early 1950s (ITF).

South Korean nationalists advanced that age to 2000 years for the World Tae Kwon Do Federation (WTF) sometime in the 1970s.

Now this guy Lee says it is 1300 years old?

Why can't we TKD people just keep to one age and go with the original explanation that TKD is just Koreanized Shotokan?

Because thats our secret weapon before a fight we say " how old is TKD?" and while the opponent is trieng to figure out whenever the hell TKD started we attack!

LAWPILOT, Koreans (in general) have 3 highly common names, each the supersized equivalent of a "Smith" or "Jones" in the US: first is "Lee", like you said, 2nd "Park/Pak", 3rd "Kim".

Weakness. Me jarhead me no spell good. :P Or maybe you meant meekness.

I think other styles caught onto your tactic and now all consider themselves ancient. I think with TKD they try and count the whole history of Korea and Tae Kyun (sp).

You would think that since Americans have been in Korea since the 50's (at least we still have a presence below the 38th parallel) that some of these Korean masters would be named "Smith" or "Jones"....LOL
