    Hell yeah! Hell no!

Wikipedia article sanshou: Yùndòng, Pingmin and Jùnshì Sanda?

Wikipedia article sanshou: Yùndòng, Pingmin and Jùnshì Sanda?

The English Wikipedia article of Sanshou/Sanda http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanshou
had a major update a little time ago, unfortunally I can’t find any other sources mentioning

    - Yùndòng Sanda (Mandarin Chinese, Sport Free Fighting)
    - Pingmin Sanda(Mandarin Chinese, Civilian Free Fighting -Street Defense-Oriented)
    - Jùnshì Sanda (Mandarin Chinese, Military Free Fighting)

So I’m asking now to the CMA community here if they have heard (used) of these names to describe the different “flavours” of SanDa?
Or that it is a Chunners wet dream typed in the article.
Yes, I know that the new text comes from a Chunner because the original text contained “Sanda contains fighting techniques going from Wing Chun to the hundreds of different CMA styles”.
I corrected this part to a more neutral text (see wiki discussion for the explination, if you are interested).

While we can’t consider Wikipedia anymore as an unbiased information source, it doesn’t deserve to letting it all go to waste because of some wiki-lawyering and Dux fanboy wiki-moderators.
Since it still is one of the first sites where complete noobs will go to learn something about anything.

Unfortunally my SanDa knowledge is limited. I know about the sport version, which contains ammy and pro rulesets and that there’s a Militairy version. That’s about it!

I'm not sure, but the whole "sharpens one skill on the street" is stupid. There is a self defense oriented "art" that was developed for the Chinese police or military. I can't remember which and it sounds like they took that art and wrote a promotional add in the wiki.

I thought that it would be this, since all the references to Yùndòng, Pingmin and Jùnshì Sanda on other websites were taken from the wiki article, to be exactly, they all take the text of the wiki article liturarely over.
Couldn't find any other source using those names using google.

I've got a sneaky suspission that in a few months we'll find a Sanda school teaching Yùndòng, Pingmin and Jùnshì Sanda, with probably Wing Chun as their core art.

I've just removed the "pingmin" section out of the wiki article. (see wiki discussion for the explination, if you are interested).

My last update of the wiki article:
I've kept only one "Yùndòng Sanda (Mandarin Chinese, Sport Free Fighting)" and one "Jùnshì Sanda (Mandarin Chinese, Military Free Fighting)" in both texts. Everywhere else I adapted it to just "Sanda" and highlighted "Amateur Sanda" and "Professional Sanda".

Didn't change anything of the global information in both texts, since the one about the Militairy version is too generic and the one of the Sport version, while elaborated looks fine by me.

Let's see how long it will take before the article is again rewritten to "infomercial" standard.
