I wanted to let you know about a new petition on "We the People", a new feature on WhiteHouse.gov, and ask for your support. Will you add your name in support of our sport? YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A NEW YORKER. If this petition gets 25K signatures by December 08, 2011, the Obama Administration will issue an official response.

Legalize Mixed Martial Arts in New York:
We are petitioning the Legalization of Mixed Martial Arts in New York. New York politics and corruption is the only reason NY is being deprived of millions of dollars in revenue and thousands of new jobs. Assemblymen Sheldon Silver is doing New Yorkers a disservice in not allowing this to get to the Assembly floor for a vote. It easily passed the Senate and Silver had reason to let it go to the floor for a vote. The sport is legal in all but 3 states with an athletic commission. The politicians in NY should be ashamed and embarrassed that MMA is still not legal in NY.

I'm thinking a person would not even have to be in the US to sign the petition.

With the number of members here, perhaps a post in YMAS or Boff Topic would get you much more exposure towards the 25k signatures needed.

Of course, then you're at the mercy of BS central.
