    too stiff for BJJ?

    Hi All

Newbie question here, I have started MMA and the club offers BJJ as well, problem is I am so stiff in the hips/thighs whatever I struggle to even sit up in mount. Question I would like answered is, should I keep working on the flexibility then start BJJ or just go in with the limitation now ?

    Thanks

Start training and work on the flexibility as well. If you get in the habit of gently stretching while you're sitting around/shooting the ****/reading/watching TV you'll find it improves pretty quickly.

Where specifically do you feel the tightness? If you were to put your toes on the floor like the guy on top

would you be able to put your bum on your heels?

No I wouldn't be able to sit back it pulls on the inside and tops of my thighs, no idea how I got this stiff but stretching most days now and its a long road back. Main thing I wanted to avoid was being the guy no one wants to train with

I had that issue and eventually got over it. Body just ajusted.

In our club being **** does not make people not want to train with you. Being an arsehole does.
