I don't understand what the boxer Mayweather senior was doing. Why did he seem to be leading with the shoulder and go to a standing foetus when hit?

It didn't look like how a boxer would react to me, was he injured, is it just because he's a bit old or is there some tactic behind what he was doing?
didn't the op state it was a spar (not a fight)? I just thought he was being nice to the kid.

That's the Philly shell defensive tactic, which is also heavily utilized (more impressively) by his son. If you ever fight (or spar) against someone who knows how to do it, it can be quite frustrating.

It's called the shoulder roll. The idea is, if someone tries to hit you, you "roll" the shoulder so that the punch is rendered harmless. Then, because the opponent is left vulnerable after the follow through, you can counterpunch with a straight.

Floyd Sr is a master of this, and has become known as one of the best trainers in boxing teaching this technique to Oscar de la Hoya, Chad Dawson, and his son Floyd Jr -- who is arguably the best P4P fighter in the world.

Here's what it looks like in a legitimate fight:

One of the reasons I fucking hate Floyd Jr.

I swear he enjoys every second of every boxing fan wanting to see him eat a power punch and are constantly, consistently, denied. It's torture to watch how good at it he is...

Not only that, but the guy has 36 rounds of fighting, in 23 fights and 20 KO losses, out of 21..that he lost. Suddenly I feel a little better about my stellar 0-1 ammy record.

He didn't actually get hit, if you look closely, other than on the shoulder and the forearms, which is the point.

Seriously, can't anybody report this guy to the authorities?

Sooner or later, he will eat a bullet over this.

And his opponent wears himself out doing no damage at all.

Also, this nut's Facebook is something else.

So is he going to make Klitschko's weight or does he hope for Klitschko to just stop eating for the next eight months?

Also, if this guy is still not in a mental health facility, I wonder what's going to happen with him in July 2012.
