Dana should lay off the hardcore fans about their pickiness, though. They're the ones who put him where he is

Damn, it looked like Cain was going to stick with trying to land the takedowns to avoid the risk of boxing with him, but that obviously did not work out. I am amazed that he was knocked out that incredibly fast.

    JDS vs Overeem.... holy balls.

Go over the fight slow motion and take a close look. Very few folks are
saying it as of yet openly byt there's already quite a bit of scuttlebutt
    and controversy.

his fail, but JDS did what he needed to. <3 JDS
    Well said.

Junior gave Velasquez like 5 seconds before he jumped him and started landing bombs that Velasquez didn't defend. The ref was right to call this fight a KO.

You can't get Fox overhere, at least not as far as I know.

My and my mates downloaded it and watched all the prelims followed by the main event in one sitting and then topped it all off with the Pacquiao fight.

I must admit it was a little anti-climatic that the fight was over so quickly especially as all the other fights had at least a decent bit of mileage in them and most of them had had a good bit of back and forth.

I agree the buildup was greater than the fight. It's just a non-issue to me. That's the way it goes with fighting. Would we prefer to see pillow fisted girly men fighting or would we rather see men who can drop another man with one punch? We can't beg for good striking, then cry when we get it.

Somebody made the point earlier about it reminding them of a Tyson fight. That thought crossed my mind too. I remember watching Tyson fight Michael Spinks when I was a kid. There was a huge buildup to the fight, tons of hype. Tyson came out and dusted him in a minute and a half. I was a casual fan and just learning about boxing at the time. I certainly don't remember feeling disappointed. I was just in awe of Tyson and wanted to see him fight again.

Junior's comments after the fight about being scared to fight Cain were another thing that reminded me of that fight. Tyson said the same thing about Spinks. I remember him saying he was terrified to fight Spinks and that he was crying in the locker room before the fight. Then the bell rang and it was murder.

    ^^^^ right on.

I didn't watch any buildup really, since it was booked. I saw the fight, and it was magical. I didn't watch it on faux.

I want fights that can end like that. Devil has teh correct. Fight to finish. I don't want to see fighters that will probably go for 15-25 minutes every fight (GSP feels that way).

Are you fighting, or box dancing? Finish it, if you can.

This fight revealed a lot about several people. It confirmed Brock isn't the ass-hat people give him **** for. He called out Dana at every opportunity where a guy like Florian would've just said "you're absolutely right boss." It also showed how humble Brock is in complimenting Cain for whipping his ass.

If anyone had any doubt at what a tool Dana is, his mouth should've erased it for good this time. ****-talk you new HW champion and criticize the old one for not doing what you think he should've, even though he did try a takedown in the first 20 secs?

JDS is an excellent representative for the sport. He's shown he can talk trash without sounding trashy and back it up, and still show the utmost respect for his opponent before and after the fight.

Cain showed he can accept a KO loss without bitching or making excuses. He also confirmed he can't take the punishment he can dish. Kinda like when Roy Jones Jr was proven human, no one has fought him with the same reluctance in the ring. I expect Cain to have the same thing happen to him in his next few fights.

Fox as network has shown mma has no place there. The format was terrible, the pre-game show was clue-less, post-game report was Fox News-ish, and I'm only fairly sure they showed a fight. I saw a replay when I came back from the bathroom, but that doesn't really confirm anything... I can only imagine the execs at Spike looked like Overeem staring at a horse after this event.
