If you're genuinely motivated to accomplish something, you start training for it right fucking now. Arbitrary dates on a calendar don't matter, only the present does, in preparation for the future.

And if you didn't have the resolve to get off your ass and start inching towards whatever goals you've set for yourself, as of five minutes ago, you're certainly not going to start working on them just because a date passes by.

January 1st is no different than any other holiday; one that's "celebrated" mainly for the purpose of squeezing money out of people. Only instead of candy, iPhones, or barbecue grills, this one's selling gym memberships.

For the gym owners here, please, with all sincerity, take full advantage of the "Resolvers". Heck, feel free to sign them up for full year contracts. Yeah, that sounds contrary to our normal editorial position here, but we know full well that those are the people who pay the bills for the other 1% who actually want to train the other 364 days of the year.

Just while you're at it, do your best to recruit more of that 1%, from the other 99. Because at the end of the day our real job here, in fighting bullshit, is to change lives.

And we've been "resolved" to do this for going on ten years now.

my goals are to get my blue belt, and get the presidential challenge gold medal while obama can still robo-sign my medal certificate. also, to compete in 2 warrior dashes and improve my time in each one.
