There was quite a bit of controversy on this card, as Nick Diaz was slated to fight UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre but because Diaz missed consecutive two important press conferences UFC President Dana White took the title shot away from Nick Diaz and gave it to Carlos Condit. BJ Penn who was initially scheduled to fight Condit was then left without an opponent, so 'due to popular demand' the UFC slotted him with Nick Diaz.

why on earth would you pick condit over gsp?

also, i guess nelson vs cro cop is the most obvious "loser walks" fight ever in ufc?

I like this card. Looks like some good matchups on paper, let's see if it can deliver.

GSP by his usual dominance
Penn by Diaz being overrated
Nelson via CroCop being way over the hill and having actual grappling ability

I'm a total mark for Condit, and it's wishful thinking over anything. It would be awesome if he clipped GSP coming in or something, but more likely than not he's getting wrestled badly for 5 rounds.

And yeah, they're both coming off fairly poor fights. I expect Roy to dominate Mirko in the clinch and get him down, most likely. Heh, saying that is depressing. Mirko. :(
