    It makes you neither a dick, nor l33t. It just means they all suck at takedowns, even from the knees.

    Don't think I have done, pretty sure I've advocated knee taps from the knees before.

    Its more that I keep getting my guard passed so I get fed up after spending so long in half guard or side control and just default back to the top position, which I can actually do something from.

    I only ask if its a dick move, because some of them always look a bit annoyed/ down after I do it. Maybe its because I'm still wearing my Judo gi and some of them are looking to scalp hunt.

    I anticipate in 3-5 weeks time my O soto from the knees will stop working as people get wise to it.

    My back take from kami shiho/north south is already starting to be less effective.

    Since they probably know you do Judo I'm sure they forgive you. Though consider this: Wouldn't you be doing yourself a favor if you worked on those positions that you suck at?

    Let me ask you something. Do you think your guard will improve if you avoid the position?

    And no, it's not a dick move. The BJJ kiddies are annoyed because you are taking them slightly outside their comfort zone. In reality, assuming you're not trying to O soto their heads off, it's a good thing for them to do what you're doing. It's not so good for you getting better at the guard however.

    Guard will not improve by constantly O soto-ing and playing from the top.

    Hence I pull guard for the first 4 minutes 30 of the randori and then O soto to Uki gatame for the last 30 seconds for my own sense of satisfaction.
