*Jones thinks Machida might beat him*

I'm surprised to hear Jones admit Machida could beat him. Granted, it's a fight and anything can happen, but to publicly state your opponent might take you out?!? Interesting. Not sure if it's a good or bad thing to be honest.

The Jones haters will find a way to spin this as yet another example of Jon Jones' arrogance. I don't see anything wrong with stating that your opponent might beat you, and I think that believing it as opposed to just saying it could spur you to train harder and not take anything for granted.

I think that's just Jones' way of being humble and then BAM!

Machida COULD beat Jones, but lets just say from a person perspective, I said this when Machida beat Evans for the belt:

"I think Jon Jones will beat him"

Probably Jones wants to promote/sell the fight better, as I don't think he'd so easily admit he could get beaten by Machida.
Any champion(even the best of them) knows there's always a slight chance of things going wrong, but I don't think this is the case.

By the way, I don't think Machida can beat Jones.

I also don't believe Machida has all the tools he needs to beat Jones, but I'm definitely looking forward to the fight.

I can't remember who, but someone on here said they'd like to see how Jones does against a high level wrestler with decent striking. Hasn't Jones already beat someone who fits that bill?
If you do not test yourself against the unknown, how can you truly know if the tools you possess actually work?

I think Machida could beat Jones, but I don't think it will happen. Jones and his coaches have no doubt looked at Lyoto's footwork and counterstriking very closely, and worked on ways to minimize the chances of getting caught by heavy hands.

He's just stating the obvious of every fight in the UFC, anyone else think Faber and Lyota have similar foot movement?

You mean Jackson? I wouldn't say decent striking, more like competant. Anyway, put me in the corner with those who don't think Machida can win. I just don't see his hit and run style working on a dude with that kind of reach.
