    At the time, yes. The gracies were "all that". However they did avoid fighting many people who were likely to wreck them. They generally didn't **** with high level judoka or olympic wrestlers. It was mostly wrecking up Karate and Trad JJ schools and ****. So, there was a combination of being really good at what they did, and picking targets that were likely to make them look good as well as prove their point.

    They definitely did mix it up with high level wrestlers and Judoka. Rickson went and rolled with Mark Schultz, Royce tapped Severn, Renzo beat Ben Spijkers.
