Penn was doing decently for a bit IMO, but he was just demoralized by Nick not taking him seriously when he was almost giving it his all. i think if you're going after a guy, you're (supposedly) hurting him, but he doesn't care, doesn't seem phased, drops his hands, and ****, now you're gassed and he has that same stupid look on his face from when he walked in, before you landed a single punch, before he did anything, it must be a hell of a trip. then he starts going after you, the now tired you.

    HOWEVER...

i'd wager GSP has the cardio to keep the initial pace that had Penn not looking bad up for as long as the fight lasts. Nick is going to have to tag him hard to get anything across, and i got GSP above Diaz on boxing technique. i got GSP on superior wrestlefucking, and he can hang out in your guard all day and ruin your plans.

Nick might be the guy to do it, but it would be a hell of a sight to see.

Striking is close, and Diaz might even have a somewhat better ground game, but GSP's takedowns have proven to be impossible to stop so far. I don't think he'll leave unscathed, but he'll repeatedly take him down when standing, and just back off if Diaz causes trouble in the guard. At least that's how I see it.

However Dana White said today that GSP told him he's going to give Diaz the worst beating he's ever seen in the UFC. Now watching him try THAT could be interesting.

I would say because the most decisive round was won by him. The rest of the fight was kind of......nothing.

Boring card from what I saw. I watched the Facebook prelims, missed the Spike ones because I took a nap. The PPV wasn't that good either except for Penn vs Diaz and Cerrone making Siver look like Gumby. Only 3 finishes the whole night sigh

Diaz vs Penn was one of the very best fights I have ever seen. It was everything I hoped it was going to be.

Sad to see Cro Cop go of course, BJ Penn said he is done but we shall see.

Also, I saw the post fight press conference. Whenever I see Diaz talk during an interview I have this fear that hes going to suddenly collapse and die on the spot. He doesn't seem like he is all there.

Why do you want Diaz to win?

Because, too keep today's Halloween terminology,
GSP fights are like ghost stories that are not scary.

    GSP

    Scary Nick

(In case you wonder, yes, that's from 1935's "A Werewolf in London".)
