    Hell yeah! Hell no!

No more credit for "stepping up"

Taking an ass kicking and learning nothing doesn't make you immune to criticism. If you aren't getting better I don't care that you came to a throwdown or something and "proved" that your **** works because you got hit in the face. If you leave that event and go right back to your dead patterns because now you've been hit and you really "understand combat". Go **** yourself.

Fight strangers who want to hurt you and win or GTFO.

    No sorry don't like it.

I want to be able to show respect for people even if they are struggling.

Cant fight,. has the wrong style, has the wrong mentality, is just not a tough dude,is just hoplessly outclassed,

because I have seen these things change as people grow up.

Also I was recently inspired by a guy who was a very good fighter who I have never seen say a bad word about anybody. And pesonally I thought that was a good look.

Yeah, I understand that. I felt like WhiteShark's post was more directed at people who spill a lot of bullshit about how their style dominates everyone else's, than get their head kicked in at a throwdown only to come back and spill more **** about how they're the biggest deal and their style has it all, which I can agree with.

If you don't identify and change your weaknesses through your experience then what the hell are you doing?

Credit to anyone that steps in the ring.

If they are still a twat afterwards, criticise them for being a twat.
If their style is still **** afterwards, criticise that.
It doesn't take away the fact that they put their money where their mouth was and fought.

I feel the "how" is important. If someone is so delusional about their ability that they think they can take anyone, I don't see how that is the basis for respect. Especially when getting beaten up somehow seems to make people think they validated their claims.

Saying, "all right, I want to test myself and step up" and actually taking something from the experience is a different thing, methinks.

Not much respect true, but for every 1 of them, there are 100 who share the same d34dly delusion, but won't fight.

I have to respect that 1 more than the other 100
