I don't know about Jones at HW... He's not going to be able to throw people around and doesn't have the detering power to keep a 260lb brute from bullying him into the cage. I may change my mind if someone tests him at LHW and he still gives'em the ol what fer.

At this point in his career, I'm impressed with what he's done but not sold on what he'll be. As inconsistant as Rua is, I wouldn't be suprised if he tore Bones a new asshole in a rematch.

I'm up for this one..I just wish the damn bars weren't such a zoo and I could go watch it somewhere in peace.
Bones looks like the real deal and I think Rampage is in for a schooling this time. If Jones fights smart he will win.

Lol, took me twice to read it. At first, I thought you were in jail.

EDIT: Actually, you could probably watch it in peace there.

I'd personally be very surprised. Jones tore through Rua, and this is a guy who's STILL getting better (at least from what I can see in every fight he's entered).

I was convinced Jones was the real real when I saw his match against Bonnar (in which he lost the last round of that fight).

Not saying I think it would happen, but it wouldn't shock me in the slightest. Playing the what if game aside, no one has come out to hurt Jones. It's like everyone wants to be his friend and have a friendly match with him. Once someone fights him without giving him so much space and actually touches his chin we'll know if he's as good as he seems or not. Even GSP cracks under pressure, so if it happens to Jones I'll just shrug and say "figures." If he can still hold his own when that happens, I'll do the oh **** face and never doubt him again.

Except for the part where Ryan Bader, who is no slouch in the power department, connected solid against Jones several times, and Jones walked right through it. I think there is a big difference between giving the guy space and not being able to deal with in most cases a 10" reach disadvantage. And when they do get in close, Jones has proven to have some sick Greco Roman.

Honestly, even though the hype has been astronomical, Jones' performances in the cage have been extraordinary. I swear, I seem recall at every point someone saying "if Jones can hang with X, then we know he's the real deal." For Dana White, it was Vladimir Matyushenko. Rogan announced Jones vs. Bader as the fight to find out who the top dog in Light Heavyweight was. Prior to their falling out, Rashad described Jones as so talented, that working with him you catch so many glimpses of the greatness, etc. Rua was considered by many to be P4P top 1 or 2 in the world. And Jones didn't just beat these guys, and Brandon Vera, and Stephan Bonnar, and manhandle Matt Hamill prior to the loss by DQ--he walked through those guys like they weren't really there.

So I get that some people don't like his perceived arrogance, and I know the hype annoys some people--I still crack up whenever I hear the clip of Brandon Vera ("Jon Bones Jones: The Second Coming of Jesus Christ!"--but seriously, there is no taking away what Bones has already done.

As much as I love Rampage, and as much as I know rationally that Jones has most of the advantages in that fight, I not-so-rationally want Jones to drop Rampage like a sack of bricks or catch him in a guillotine if for no other reason than to see what the anti-Jones crowd comes up with next. I'm sure it'll be something like "Well, Rampage hasn't really been impressing lately, his last four fights went to a decision... but Rashad, Rashad Evans will expose Bones as overhyped."

I know it sounds like anti-Jones propaganda, but the Bader fight more sealed Bader as a fluke than Jones as solid. He looked shook from the opening bell, and when he tried to pull guard I doubted he even had enough resolve to put anything more than the motion into his punches.

If Rampage brings it and gets beat, doesn't matter by what kind of margin, Jones will have answered the question beyond a doubt. If he just follows Bones around and looks lost, I'll have a new question that I'll wait to see answered. Maybe Jones has the same pressence that GSP has. GSP has fought the best available guys out there, and they all choked against him. You can't say it was just an off day for a guy when all his opponents hit a wall like that. Jones may very well have that same thing going. It's more than just being hard to deal with when the most aggressive or mentaly tough guys in the world are so quick to lose their focus.

Jones fights like a natural. He's just there, doing whatever he pleases. At some point he'll get heavily tested, and we'll see what's up. From what I've seen, he's a war machine, who should be the fav against anyone not named Dan Henderson (IMO) at 205.

I give Rampage a 30% chance, but I'll be rooting for him. He might be harder to manhandle than some of the other opponents Jones has had.

I'm saying that already, preemptive and whatnot.
