Sorry for the long de-rail.

I asked, you answered; I had made assumptions based on your previous post. I started working on my ground game in 2004, after nearly 30 years of stand up martial arts. It was difficult for me and felt unnatural, but I'm starting to get the hang of it.
You obviously had a more well-rounded martial arts background and that kind of went hand-in-hand. Everything I had trained, with the exception of a little grappling, was stand up.

I haven't got mine in Ninjitsu yet. According to Ashida Kim's website http://www.dojopress.com/catalogms1.html it should take four to six weeks.

Pfff. Watch Hatsumi-sama's videos on YT, and you can have your 1st dan in 10 mins. Once you have, no can defence.
