Yeah, in boxing they are called cans. You can make some serious bread being one. But MMA doesn't have that luxury because 1) fighters are paid ****, and 2) the number in the L column matters less in this sport, so there isn't a demand for guys who can just get rolled over.

MMA is starting to get their own journeymen. Give it a few years and tune-up fights will be common place in mma as well, even on PPV. It'll probably take longer than that, but still. Maybe when Silva only defends his belt once every 14 months against the number 7 or lower ranked fighter like B-Hop/Roy Jones did, boxers won't hate on mma so much.
