Michael Corleone real name is Michael Cavuoto from N. bellmore NY. He changed his name after a rape charge at a nite club named Escapes in Merrick, NY.Check out article in NY Daily News. He also is a dead beat Dad an has a daughter that was born in the yr 1990 that he turned his back on and never supported from day one of her birth. Its funny how he trys to play the great dad act with his second born son. As for his boxing titles etc..... its probably bullshit like the rest of his life! He is nothing but a very good lier and munipalator. You can probably get a copy of court reports and records from Suffolk county family Court. So the truth is Michael Cavuoto aka "Michael Corleone", is nothing but a dead beat dad and a very good lier. He is a man with no integrity and will do anything to get what he wants ! And that is the truth!

No dog in this fight at all, but am I the only one to note that Corleone was fighting AS Corleone as early as 1992, and the rape charge against Cavuoto was in 1995? Call me skeptical, but it seems to me that the accusation being made (re: the name change) doesn't fit the well documented timeline.

Just an observation regarding the boxing title claim: Corleone / Cavuoto did move up to Welter (147) for his next fight after losing at Jr. Welter (140) to De Pompe, but there is no way that it was a title defense or for a shot at a vacant title or anything like that. It was an 8 rounder. He lost an 8 round *decision* 20 days after he says the IBO awarded him the belt. In fact, he never fought another 12 round fight after the De Pompe loss. That was the only 12 rounder of his career. It is possible that one of the two TKO losses whose distance length is not given on BoxRec later in his career were scheduled for longer, but no other distance fight in his career went even 10 rounds.

Also, after the one 8-rounder right after the De Pompe fight, he didn't stay at Welterweight consistently. After a 10 month layoff, he fought at 152 (Junior Middle, limit 154) his next two fights. He fought other guys who were Welterweights a couple of times, and even one Junior Welterweight, but he never made 147 again in his career.

So, given that he seems never to have fought a 12 rounder at 147, and that he had an 8 round fight less than 3 weeks after the De Pompe fight, I'd say that Mr. Corleone / Cavuoto at least never fought as any kind of IBO Champion. It is possible that someone awarded him an interim belt for which he never fought and then stripped him of it without his ever defending it, but unless his record at http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?hum...5518&cat=boxer is radically misleading, Mr. Corleone's only professional boxing title fight was his loss to Mr. De Pompe.
