So let me get this straight.
You didn't actually win the title, you just got awarded it as it was vacant? Then you... lost it? It doesn't show anywhere in your boxrec record that you had a defending bout. It doesn't mention it at all. In fact I can't find anywhere that mentions you held the title, even if you were just a placeholder.
Also, I know I said I didn't care about your kickboxing titles, but are there any records of that anywhere? Just curious. -

The fight for the Jr. Welterweight was held 4/5/1997 vs. Scott De Pompe
there is a then a month and a half gap where the next title fight was Paul Nave (who has fought former IBF Lightweight Champ Greg Haugen) vs. Jose Luis Reynosa.....no mention of De Pompe.
Perhaps De Pompe moved up in weight or was stripped or elected to not fight the manditory challenger?
Concerning Welterweight:

there is a gap in title fights from 12/12/1996-10/16/1999

After doing a search on their website, I sent a message to the IBO, via their "Contact Us" page:
I will post any reply received by the IBO, whom bills itself as "The only sanctioning body with unbiased, computerized rankings".Greetings.
Recently a discussion came up on Bullshido, which is a website dedicated to exposing fraud in the martial arts, concerning a boxer named or using the alias of "Michael Corleone".
http://www.bullshido.net/forums/showthread.php?t=108932
Mr. Corleone is stating to have been awarded the IBO-IC Welterweight title, by former IBO President John Dadanno, on or around the morning of 4/6/1997, after losing the Jr. Welterweight title fight to Scott De Pompe on 4/5/1997.
There is no records on boxrec of any IBO-IC Welterweight title matches from 12/12/1996-10/16/1999 and no mention of Mr. Corleone ever having been awarded that vacant title nor subsequently losing it in the ring.
Any insight you might be able to provide would be greatly appreciated. You may do so by the email provided below -or- via the website linked above.
Thank you
Also, their governing body rules, which in boxing means two things, jack and ****:

Simple Google News Archives Search using the following terms:
Michael+Corleone+Boxing
http://www.google.com/search?aq=f&hl...w=1086&bih=857
Most of them are PPV to see, but you can see some of his info in the results. I found a reference to his losing the title to De Pompe:

but that's all.
