I'm glad that at least Eddie Bravo was being honest with me when he admitted that this movie (which had just finished filming at the time) was going to suck. So....at least that's....something...uhhh....yeah. I'm trying to remember who Einstein plays in this cinematic tour de force but I can't be bothered to look it up on IMDB.

Haha yeah. For a moment I was willing to put money on table for Pablo Francisco doing the trailer voice. And STBA thanks for the synopsis.. Now I just got to watch the movie. But more thanks for tip about The Wraith, haven't seen that one.

As bad as the movie looks... can I just say that I'm at least glad that MMA is now getting the Hollywood movie-fu focus, rather than the long time focus on Shaolin Kung Fu?

No hating here, I love Kung Fu movies. But we all know that in that case Hollywood created something practically out of thin air. Whereas at least here, MMA has a real combat-style history.

How did the fights look? It was mostly guys from our gym doing them. You should have seen Tim and Dustin for sure.

Gotta say, the scenes looked good. Walking in, I was expecting some capoeira/flying spin kick VanDamme-esque crapfest. For once, I was plesantly surprised.

On a side note, I'm not familiar with Koba as a Russian name. I know Joseph Stallin used it as a nickname at times, but the man was Georgian, so could be of Georgian origin. Meh.

the fights looked as good as you could expect.

you remember mark whalberg in "the fighter" and how he trained western boxing for months to prep for the movie, and they still had to do the fights hollywood style to look good on film?

imagine the MMA version of that.

he trained for years
