Because of RoC tonight and Bellator tomorrow I won't actually have a review of this one done until Sunday. I think some of it is based on the low standards people have for the genre. The action scenes are an unqualified success, though.

Saw it last month at a press screening. Loved it. Great movie. Great choreography. Good story and acting.

Oh, I got my review up for this movie over the weekend at USCS. http://uscombatsports.com/index.php?...604&Itemid=325
Yes, it was good, but not great. The ultra short version is direction, cinematography, choreography: brilliant. Acting: Solid. Script: Utter garbage. -

Personally I loved the movie, and was surprised there weren't a bunch of Tapfliction Toolbags running around. I went on Friday opening night at about 1800hrs. I imagine the lack of toolbaggery was due to them primping for a long night of clubbing on a Friday night.
I usually like long segments of training footage in fight movies. I think it pays homage to the hard work and sacrifice the fighters put in to fight at any level. This movie didn't really have that. They put in just enough to show that the fighters train, but not really to the extent that you would think the training took over their lives. It kind of makes me wonder, if this movie will bring forth, or expand a breed of Tapfliction toolbag who thinks he is the dark horse younger brother who can kick anyone's ass, in a few seconds, but just hasn't had his chance yet? Bouncers everywhere, prepare to be annoyed!
