    Mostly for the fun of it, just the same reason why you would train grappling.

    Also striking is still effective on the "str33ts" since people that have no fighting experience will start punching instead of grappling. A lot of times they will even try to get a hold of you with one hand, giving themselfs a limitation.

    IMO, I think that around puberty, when the "man" and "woman" roles in society are defined, grappling as the natural way of fighting gets replaced by striking for the untrained male.

    I still train in striking because wrestling a heavy bag sounds too much like manual labor.
