Thanks for answering my question. You might want to put down the Body Combat for a while. Perhaps another MA is in your future. One that teaches you how to really strike.

Why? He is obviously doing it to stay/get in shape. Why would someone want to learn to "really strike" when they are trying to get in shape?

I propose that he should do whatever he wants to do.

Pavel Tsatsouline: kettlebell workouts give you “cardio without the dishonour of aerobics”.

LOL BodyCombat is not shadow boxing.

It is basically Tae Bo, without Billy Blanks.

Why? It's a fun and hard cardio workout, the techniques are strongly based in Martial Arts (as opposed to just aerobics with some kicks and punches thrown in) so it would compliment anyone already doing martial arts and I get paid to teach it.

I learned to "really strike" prior to that and am happy to continue on the bag and pads to keep my hand/elbow/knee/foot in so to speak...

I'd rather be in great shape with mediocre form than terrible shape with great form.

Best to work on both. Billy Blanks is a total badass.

LOL. I did say shadow boxing at a push but what is shadow boxing really except practicing moves against air. Tae Bo is a bit 80/90's. Fitness has moved on a bit since then. Here's a couple of tasters for two of the latest Body Combat releases.

So it's exactly the same, but they just changed the soundtrack? I'd take Billy Blanks over Skrillex any day.
