In a video I have of a small arms contact in Iraq about 4-5 years ago, the patrol (in vehicles) came under a 35 second sustained ambush. 35 seconds doesn't sound particularly long but the fuckers managed to disable at least two vehicles killing one of the drivers. His door and window had in excess of 15 hits.

Given that most modern assault weapons carry magazines of 30 rounds, you do the math.

Ah hah, so it *is* possible to disable a vehicle with an AK. You just need to unload hundreds of rounds into it.

Might. Might not. That's what level 4 is for.

Probably not that would be Level IV or higher but at that point you are building a tank.

Hit the tyres/wheels and you have an "M Kill". That vehicle isn't going far or fast especially in a desert/middle eastern road infrastructure. Plus the British Land Rover isn't particularly reknown for it's ballistic resistance LOL

We have these MRAPs that supposedly can travel 30 kilometers with shot up tires, or rounds to the engine block/coolant system/etc.

I personally don't believe it, but I'll never get a chance to ride in one : /

Not likely given the short distance, but it would have been hell if the shooter had missed one to the windshield.
