Airlie beach throwdown ( Sorta)

Thought I would do a quick round up cos I am all exited and then try to put together some sort of la de da music sparring video later.

All in all it was a really good event.
Apart from Rob it was a local affair. Most of us got together Friday night as a pre warm up at the pub to watch the jelly wrestling with an early night and no drinking for the days to come.

Sat 11am we were taken through some basic wrestling firemans hold some hip thows counters and other stuff. And then stand up wrestled. for an hour or so.

After lunch we returned and did shoot boxing and some boxing (For me I need the practice)

all of the sparring was hard and committed but there was really no ego. No major injuries exept everybody was knackered and my toes had copped a pounding.

That night I had to work but the boys were out for what i was told a good night but a very mediocre wet Tshirt comp.

The next day started early and was ground fighting based with more drills and lessons. Then sparred ground fighting with strikes.

A few hours of sunbaking at our local lagoon and we were ready to train again .

One of the guys was doing a national kyokashin comp so we all had a hand at doing some Knockdown? karate. (No head punching kickboxing) It was the first time most of us have ever done this so for me especially there was some real ajustment but interesting none the less.

We finished the day with more rolling.

I gained a lot out of this And had an awsome weekend I would like to thank all the boys who came down.

Rob for putting in the time to come down from the Sunny coast.

And Anton and Danny for setting the whole thing up.

Now all I have to do is get good for the next one. So that when all the Aussie bullies see the vid and drag themselves down I wont compleatly suck.

allright we are on again for a tentitive date of july. Rob will be up and one of the boxing coaches plus a few guys from the sunny coast.

All of the is will be in the new gym. (we got a cage now) and should be awesome.
Weekend will cost $80

All right we should be on again in October. Rob guffrida will be coming. Ian bone will be coming and there looks like a sub grappling comp for shits and giggles is going to be on the cards as well.

Will post exact dates and costs when I get them.

All right dates are the 29th 30th of this month up at our gym in airlie beach. Cost is a hundred bucks for the weekend.

Some of the best guys in Australia are coming to this. And now there is going to be grappling comps MMA striking what ever people bring pertty much we will be hacking at it.

Otherwise you will be getting some of the best instruction you can get here.

So drag your arses up and have a go.
