Number 1 sign of bullshit run out of there! There is absolutley no viable reason for this unless you are a child taking their first lessons of anything.

my instructor is just not very open minded. He likes to make fun of karate sometimes comparing to it when you do a wrong technique.

But his classes are geared toward muay thai competition not mma. So he just advocates that like in clinch just knee and position and will tell you to stop messing around if you try other stuff too much.

The key here is IN CLASS. No **** you shouldn't be fooling around in class! He just wants you to train for what he is training you. Outside of class he really shouldn't be against crosstraining.

true but most people are too lazy to do anything after class, and I don't cross train. ANd what styles will teach you that kind of **** anyway most stuff is geared for sport so if you try other more dangerous stuff than...
