Now, to the untrained numpty eye, it appears Kancho is under some form of sedation, his sparring not unlike the graceless lumbering of a sick dairy cow. Wow! I was almost fooled! Thank God I haven't sparred against him - he would own me. The man is a machine. I must join GKR and then maybe one day I can be like him.

GKR promotes itself as "non-contact" but I can assure you that this isn't really the case. While the tournaments are based on "non-contact" kumite and katas only, we do plenty of hard-hitting sparring (for adults) in the dojo and from red-belt onwards this is actually part of the grading.
I have a herniation in the cerebellum of my brain. I can no longer do contact martial arts. So the quote above means that I cant even do GKR? Things are bad when you cant even do GKR :(

I tried to watch that video but I have this embarrassment valve where I start to feel so embarrassed for the people in a video that I have to shut it off. Oh but thank goodness they have those pads on their hands. Otherwise... actually probably nothing would happen.

Hey does GKR have any open tournaments? Just... just asking.

From what I gather only with other GKR clubs (at least in the UK). I think they do more open sparring/tournaments in Oz, but then I think that the quality of GKR in Aus is better than elsewhere. (and that isn't saying a lot).

I like the sound of being a chi-bunny. I have already taken up yoga though.

We do seem over the last few weeks to be having a number ofGKR instructors posting/apologising for their art. on Bullshido. Guilty conscience at last? Maybe the message is getting through.

In all seriousness if you can't do any contact it might be fun. I did it for a while and found it a great way to relax although I did take umbridge at some of the hippy/chi nonsense.
