    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Anyone know about Ryujin-jiujitsu

A friend of mine was asking if I knew any local martial arts schools worth checking out. We live near the boonies in Navarre Fl and there's not much around. I drive into Pensacola and train BJJ at Gracie Pensacola it's about a 45min-to an hour (depending on traffic) drive for me. Me friend and her husband work in the Navarre area so I think they may be looking for something closer.

She mentioned she found a female instructor in the area that teaches Ruyujin-jiujitsu 2-3 x a week, hour long classes for $35 a month, and half off for a second person i.e. husband to train too. The price sounds like a good deal, i'm not sure about the style though. I glanced over the only website I could find and it looks like most traditional JJJ dojos I've seen; there's strikes, throws, some groundwork, and pressure points.

Like most places I figure the average mid level student has some knowledge in all of the areas but probably isn't better than someone at the same skill level who trains in a specialized art like BJJ for ground, Judo for throws, or boxing/muay thai. Of course, none of these other styles are offered in the Navarre area either.

Here's a link to the site I found:
    http://www.ryujin-jiujitsu.com/

What do you bullies know about this style? What do you think?

It would be nice if there was more info on the site, but the price can't be beat. That is almost as cheap as judo. My suggestion would be to go down and talk to the "shihans" and see how they train. If they do judo style randori, your friends may have a win on their hands.

Yeah, the site didn't give info about the training methods. I did see that the styles' O'Sensei trained under Kimura which sounds authentic enough for JJJ. I'm not sure I'll go check the place out with my friend but I plan on advising her to inquire about randori or any live training.
