To be honest Oyata was never Dillman's master. From my conversations with other high ranking yundansha in Oyata's organization Dillman attended seminars that Oyata conducted and picked up basic tuite and kyusho techniques from that type of format. From my understanding there were very few instances that Oyata taught Dillman on a one-on-one basis. Most of Dillman's instruction came from Oyata's senior students.

Seeing Dillman photographed with any instructor does not hold merit in my eyes. In many of his PP books there is a picture of him with Hohan Soken. Suggesting that he trained under Soken (Master of Matsumura Seito Shorin Ryu). Actually that picture was taken at a seminar when Soken visted the United States (first and only time he visted). He also claims that he was given a special PP chart from Soken but that chart was the standard chart given at that seminar.
