dillman sounds exactly like an instructor I met about 3 years ago back in Santa Fe, the guy's name was richard behren's, and he had his students pretty much brainwashed cult style. At the one class I attended he would do one of those pull your wrist away by twisting and pulling up techniques and his students would be completely amazed, then he would go off on "amazing" tales of his exploits, as well as his master techniques, (did I mention he is a self appointed 10degree grand master in Torishimaru Aikijutsu), which were supposedly mind control techniques, etc. This guy is cut from the same cloth as ashida kim, hans bristol, and pretty much any other dolt that exploits dumb/gullible people who want to learn how to fight. You can see a review on one of this guys many books at: http://spiritdimension.com/martial-a...-dialogue-.htm -enjoy(or just do a google search on the guy, there is too much to post here)

Holy fisting girls Batman! That book is at my local Half Priced Books for like $5, I might have to pick it up sometime.Originally posted by stoogejitsu

Edit:
Every once in a while I find one of Dillman's books at the Half Priced Books. One was going for $20, another was going for $8. For some reason they sell very fast, even though they suck on the inside. I picked it up and began reading it. Occasionally I find a good book there (like Kodokan Judo by Kano, and a Judo book from like 1942), but most of the time it is garbage and funny stuff.Last edited by PHILBERT; 3/24/2004 8:01am at .

PUNISHER
about wally jay...the way he controlled you, was he using one hand, the palm of it? I saw it on a tv doc once where he was supposedly able to control a guy with the palm of his hand by following around as he tried to escape and applying constant pressure on the guy's one finger. I was skeptical then b/c I didn't understand why the guy couldn't get away or punch wally :) I do realize perhaps it was just to "show" the concept and even if it was a technique he would have others to fall back on as the situation changed depending on how the guy reacts. So my question to you is what would prevent you from countering his lock? Not able to grab him or punch him?

so Dillman didn't attempt to try to show actual knockouts? neither on his own students nor seminar volunteers? -

Erle's theories sound solid, its his putting into practise thatI have concerns about.Originally posted by SamHarber
Earl Montaigue is based in the UK now, so I'll hopefully get down to one of his seminars this year.
Note: I am refering to his ideas on Fa-jing and Dim-mak, not the qi-disruptive stuff and things of that nature.
