Supporter wise, I just use a cheap ass Riddel sling from Walmart. It has a pouch for the cup, but, unlike most of the compression shorts with cup holder I've worn, it has enough excess material that it allows everything to go into the cup. The net result is that my block and tackle generally remains unpinched and the cup stays firmly in place.

As for the cup itself, I'm a big fan of the Shock Doctor Bioflex, as it's nowhere near as obtrusive as a hard plastic one or, worse yet, a TKD style huge foam gravyboat.

I appreciate your interest in my naughty bits. The strap has a pocket which I wash regularly. The plastic cup air dries and periodically gets disinfectant spray.

Thanks for the replies, looks like I'll go with the strap and cup option inside a pair of cycle shorts rather than compression shorts

I also wear compression shorts over a jock strap with cup. It's considerably tighter than just a jock strap or just compression shorts with a cup in them, and my stuff slips out a lot less frequently. I can't recommend this setup strongly enough.

Went for a Shock Doctor jockstrap with cup - will wear that inside my otherwise useless compression shorts. I did some google-fu and there are a lot of complaints about compression shorts in general having the cup on the outside of the lycra resulting in pinched nuts etc. Such a weird product design flaw.

That's the one I've used, for san da and weapon sparring. Works good, basically the same as any other cup inside a pair of compression shorts.

One of my buddies who had to pull out of the 08 Ca Pankration championships gave me his CARBON FIBER groin guard as a joke and for good luck in the said championships.

I did pretty well, considering my background. One of the guys I was fighting punched me right in the nuts (While I was on the ground I was repeatedly punching him a lot in the bladder, I think that pissed him off) and broke his hand.

    Nuff said.

(Yeah, he might have injured that hand in a prior match then really hurt it at my match, but whatever)
