    I just read about this. I'm amazed that a woman that old can still throw. I didn't realize it was possible for there to be any surviving students of Kano.

    I don't believe Fukuda-sensei is still throwing anyone, although I believe she was doing so well into her eighties.

    Does her school really not have a website? Wiki lists http://www.joshijudo.org/ but it's "down for reconstruction". If they really don't have a website, I'd be more than happy to make one for them.

    I am saddened to report that Keiko Fukuda Sensei passed away yesterday. She was an amazing woman who was very much a head of her time.
