To be fair I've been wrestling in one form or another for eight or nine years now, and I feel like I am not really well versed in the suplex. Its a hard technique to practice live due to the nature of its impact. Especially if you throw towards a bound arm like we were taught.

I know a wrestler who bounce doors and he has KO'd several people on the street with suplexes. Asphalt and concrete is not as forgiving as a padded mat.
And being a big guy I've only been suplexed properly once but I gotta say it scared the living daylights out of me.
So pretty effective both in streetfights and sports IMO. -

Same thing as a couple of you said...
For me, it's the psychological effect. In my experience, I can feel people wither after I've suplexed them. It's just demoralizing for whatever reason.
I'm also a sucker for theatrical throws and submissions, and that certainly falls into that category. -

I'm definately not as good at suplex's as I was in HS. My mom has VHS tape of some of my old meets, it's hard to believe that was me lol...
Anyway, it's easy to say if it's hard to do in any way you're doing it wrong. Against a live resisting opponent a suplex is hard to pull off, both in execution and in getting the position to even try in the first place. My one real experience using it in a fight had no resistance. I doubt I could've pulled it off if the guy was sober, but I also doubt I would've tried something else even if was more difficult. It just seems like it's a move where everything has to go right in order to it well, as opposed to other throws that can be forced and still done well. It also seems that if you do it perfectly, your opponent is just getting rolled and not taking any damage. Which can be a good thing, but what if the OMG factor doesn't work? You used all that effort just to piss off a guy that wants to hurt you even worse now...
Or am I wrong? Is it really that easy a move to pull off? It was easy in Greco and freestyle, it was easy on a drunk dude, and that's my only experience with it, I'm just assuming it would be vastly more difficult in an unbiased situation. -

I realize this may be a stupid question without specifying since a lot of suplex's are quite simple... Hell, a uranage is mechanicaly a suplex and I've never seen anyone botch one, even non-grapplers can pull that move off pretty easily.
For the record, I'm refering to bridging or over-head sup's. -
