Pugilism: Any Iterested in Albuquerque

We have several fine MMA schools in Albuquerque, and many boxing gyms, but I can't find instruction in classical pugilism (bare knuckle boxing with throws).

Is there anyone else interested in starting something up?

You should join the Classic Pugilism group on YahooGroups. There are people on there who have been reviving London Prize Ring rules pugilism for years and there might be some list members who are local to you.

Props for respecting the great Bobby Foster. Yes, he was sherriff here many years ago. Who else can boast of a multi title world champion sheriff.

In fact I drive Bobby Foster Road on the way to work every morning.

I have met him and he is exactly what you would expect from a great champ. Confident that he could have whipped any boxer before or since, and still in good shape last time I saw him.

I believe he lives on his ranch in the south part of NM now, and I have not heard of a visit from him here in years.

Boxing has always been big here, and MMA has really taken off to, with many champions traing here.

Now my interest is in classical boxing and comparing it to the classical Karate I did for thirty years. Many things have come to light from the study.
