I heard that O-Professor O-Don O-Jacobs-sama knows the answer to which came first - the chicken, or the egg.
As for the reason that the chicken crossed the road... well, it seems obvious now. It was clearly visiting Professor Don Jacobs at his honbu, so that it might pay tribute to his supreme high purpleness.Last edited by Larus marinus; 8/08/2011 3:29pm at .

I think we can officially call the Purple Dragon academy "bullshido". The Purple Dragon's other school in Vancouver is run by Shihan Daniel Donald Jacob Jr.. This is our subject:

Shihan Daniel Donald Jacob Jr. also jointly runs the the Purple Dragon's international operation with his father.
Here's where the whole thing gets dodgy. According to Shihan Daniel Donald Jacobs Jr's instructor profile:Sensei Daniel Jacob 4th Dan Black Belt is the elder son of Prof. Don Jacob. He was born on June 15, 1979. He was introduced to the Martial Arts at the early age of three. He currently lives in Canada. and travels to many countries competing at major Martial Arts Games. He has been runner-up three times in the NBL world tournaments. He is the Canadian Champion, Barbados Champion, Caribbean and Tortola Champion. He jointly operates Purple Dragon with father.
World Head of Family Sokeship Council? If you do a search on Bullshido, you'll see a list of other dodgy individuals who use this organization to puff up their credentials.Although Shihan has competed at major Martial Art Games and has won numerous world championships, Shihan’s true passion is in shaping and building strong positive youth and adults. Shihan’s fun loving and energetic personality creates a positive training environment at the dojo. On May 24, 2008, the “World Head of Family Sokeship Council” inducted then-Sensei Daniel Jacob into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame for his “Outstanding Contribution to the Martial Arts.”
This doesn't necessarily mean they're Bullshido, but this does. The Caribbean Martial Arts Hall of Fame has Sensei Daniel Jacob listed as an inductee of a Lifetime Achievement Award. Just who runs the Caribbean Martial Arts Hall of Fame? "Purple Dragon Don Jitsu Ryu System".
But wait. This "honour" gets even more suspect. In 2010, the Caribbean Martial Arts Hall of Fame inducted 400 members.. This is not a typo. From the Trinidad Guardian.
Not even Puff the Magic Dragon can puff up his credentials this much.Over 400 people were inducted into the Caribbean Martial Arts Hall of Fame as the curtain came down on the World Karate Championships at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad on Sunday night. Lifetime Achievement Awards were handed out to senior members of the Purple Dragon Karate Club, some of whom had been in the organisation from its early days. Shihans Anthony Thompson, Johnny Madrid and Neal Hewitt collected the LAA Gold, while Sensei Daniel Jacob, the son of Professor Don Jacob, his cousin Sensei Ludwin Jacob, American Sensei Albert Andrews, Antiguan Sensei Don Francis, Cayman Islands Sensei Floyd Baptiste and Sensei Wayne Pollard received the LAA silver. Sensei Karen Baptiste of Purple Dragon Cayman Islands and Sensei Ian Cyrus of the USA received the Pioneer Award Bronze and Gold respectively, while Soke Papasan Canty, a martial arts legend from the USA, received the Platinum Award.
Overall, T&T topped the medal count over the two days of competition on Friday and Saturday with a preliminary result of 315 medals. Canada was in second place with 74, USA in third with 59 and Jamaica fourth with 25. A final tally will be released this week.Apart from the local Purple Dragon schools competing in the tournament, there were three Purple Dragon schools from Canada, three from the USA and one each from Dominica, Tortola, Cayman Islands, UK and Grenada. Local non-Purple Dragon schools in attendance included Capoiera Axe, Golden Eagle and Shaolin Temple. Other international schools were Future Leaders, Jamaica, Society of Shotokan Specialists, Bahamas, PAL USA, Canada’s Best Karate and a school from Venezuela.
